I’m Here!

I’m finally in Los Angeles. I’ve been here 15 days so far and I am still alive! This adventure keeps getting more exciting by the day! I have been interning at a production company called Secret Handshake Entertainment. I’m really getting a feel for the business aspect of film and unfortunately how much control it has in Hollywood. People will not help you make movies unless they think they can make money off of them. Therefor I must become a sales person ( I’m winking as I type this!)
At SHS I’ve been helping a lot with Marketing and I quite enjoy it! I love the challenge it presents. You have to be very skilled at creative problem solving and reading people. The bosses have told me I’m rocking it so that’s a much needed boost of confidence.
Also BIG NEWS! I got a 2nd A.D job! For those of you who aren’t aware a 2nd A.D is basically the rendezvous person between the Assistant director and the rest of the cast and crew. I’m in charge of making sure everyone is where they need to be, when they need to be there, in the correct costumes, with the correct props, and the correct equipment. AH I’ve missed being on set! I’ll let you know how it goes and if hopefully the pilot gets picked up and I get a steady gig!
